Navy And South Alabama Mutually Agree To Reduce Series
South Alabama and Navy have mutually agreed to cancel their dates in 2015 and 2016 according to assistant athletic director Haven Fields. Navy and the Jags had a four-game, home-and-home series scheduled back in 2008 to be played from 2013 through 2016. However, due to Navy’s agreement to join the Big East in 2015, they are eliminating several non-conference games to open up dates for a conference schedule.
Last month, Navy posted a tentative 2015 football schedule non-conference schedule and the Jags were not on that schedule. However the front half, 2013 and 2014, are still on the schedule and at this point will still be honored.
