It's always better to end your season on a winning note rather than a losing one.

I'll take South Alabama wining the NIT over being pummeled by Butler in the first round any day and twice on Sunday.

Winning the NIT is like getting best personality in a beauty contest. Teams are seeded into the ncaa tourny and just getting in means your better than any team on paper than a team in the NIT so i would rather lose in the first round of the ncaa

I completely agree with you on that one. Many schools have used the NIT as a springboard to do well in the NCAA Tournament.

With talk about expanding the NCAA Tournament to 96 teams instead of 64 (or 65 if you count the play-in game) this could fold in the NIT teams into the NCAA Tournament. What would that mean for South Alabama and other mid-majors, we will have to wait and see.

I would perfer to win at something than to loose at in the first round of the NCAA. I'm more of a win person than the old washington red skins motto, "Oh well, there's always next year!"
